New Portfolio

Recently I got around to updating my portfolio. This time I went for a cleaner, simpler look. check it out. ryanilg.com. I built it in a simple way (which only took an evening to build), but over the next few months between other projects, I will be setting it up using a database and a custom content management system.

Synergy?

For the last little while I have been working hard at the agency. Building all the little websites that my heart desires. Tomorrow I start working on the series of dockside green websites, first one to the plate is Synergy. Should be a nice quick build, its only the first phase of this particular site so it does not have that much information on it.

Over the last few weeks I have been working on some basic updates to the cottages on saltspring site, but the most notible one is coming soon. I have been busy building mockups and getting approval from the clients for how the new floorplan engine will work. Basically I am building a flash movie that runs with an included xml document. The xml document includes information about the availablity, sq footage, and cottage number. The flash engine then takes this information and processes it so it shows up and displays the information when you roll over the relative cottage. Its really awesome how it works, on a side note, I have also built an updater in the engine, so it re-downloads the information and applys it on the fly every 30 seconds. Its gonna do wonders when this engine is applied to the full screen programs we have been building for the presentation centres. Well, till the next post. later.

Stella has Departed.

Times are tough and busy as hell. So stella is finally finished, launched, and out of my hair (for a matter of a few days im guessing). Either way i really enjoyed working on the project and i cant wait to start on the next one (Dock Side Green). It has been said that it will be even more dawn and dirty with the interactive peices, we are definatly pushing the bar when it comes to real estate sites. I feel really lucky to be involved.

Mega View Engine

So everything is going awesome at free agency. I have been working really hard on my little flash applications. Today i spend most of the morning manipulating my view engine that was build for the stella website. I had to be modified so it could run full screen on a 27 inch monitor, which will be going in the stella presentation center this thursday. I must say this thing looks amazing, both the monitor and the view engine. Well enough with the bragging.

Portfolio Updates

So i have finaly gotten around to updating my portfolio. I have removed the (empty) mission section and replaced it with a usefull Collab section. The new section will show off alot of the work I have yet to put on my main portfolio section due to the fact that I did not do all the work. I fiqured that i was missing out because some of the work i was doing else where was really amazing. Anyways besure to check out the updated ryanilg.com. Cheers

A new site..

So since my last post i have been busy workin at free agency. Its such an awesome place to work. Now on to my own projects, over the last few days i have been busy setting up a forum for Toyota owners in British Columbia (TDOBC.com). I am really hopping it picks up and lots of people start using it.

At The Cottages

So over the last few days I (along with Chris Hold) have been working vigoresly on the Cottages on Salt Springs web site. It is coming along nicely, and is nearing compleation. The site has an expected finish date of the 13th of September. I have been tweeking the site alot getting it just the way we want it to look, and also was incharge of creating the interactive maps in the saltspring and cottages sections. I have inplimented some cool features into the side/sub menu so its has a drop down menu idea. check it out to see what i am talking about.

Aftermath

After a fun (and busy) day at Free Agency, its now the long weekend… and i still dont have any plans. So today i got upto no good working with Tak and Chris. I have to say that working at Free Agency is really awesome, and i would love to work there all the time. Chris and I are collaborating together on the build of Cottages at Salt Springs. Its gonna be crazy, the site has to be done for the end of next week, but it should be no problem for our team!!

Busy Times

So everything has been going good with epix studios, more progress was made after the lunch meeting yesterday. Check out the site in its current rendition… Epix. As well as things going well with Johnathon, I had a call from Tak (Free Agency Creative). He wants me to come in Friday and a few days next week to help build a website for a cottage development. I must say that things are definatly going really well for me right now, but I still gotta send props out to kyle and george at prosmarketing. With out them I would not have built up my knowledge up in such a quick period of time. Cheers guys.
