Simplicity is key on the Adam Blasberg Photography site. Showing no more than some simple branding, and some amazing photography. The user is first presented with scaled photos, upon click, the collection expands to reveal other images in the set, as well as a larger view of the initial photo. When a collection is opened, it changes it's z-index and appears over top of the other collection in the same row. From here the user can either close the collection, or view more detail shots of the collection. The site is running on a modified version of my project framework, and uses jQuery for it's collection animations.
Columbia Containers was built with XHTML 1.1, CSS, & Flash on top of a project framework that I have been developing over the last few years. The main navigation was created in Flash so we could delay the load of the new page until the animation completes. The current page is passed into the menu, and the current section is set dynamically. The navigation also has a strictly XHTML + CSS + image representation if the Flash plugin is not available. Expandability was key while building the site.
Commercial Office Space With a Residential Sales Twist
The main attraction here is the location map, using a new system I built from scratch, all the map points/list items are named, coloured, and positioned based on the information loaded from an XML document. The site uses Flash modules to present visuals and navigation, but in the case where there is no Flash/Javascript detected, static images and text links take their place to keep content accessible to everyone, including search engines. Other highlights include a simple floor plan/view engine.
